2019 – Identity, Print, Digital

A Bubbly Peachy Festival, held in honour of Melbourne’s peach season, mixes the nostalgia of blowing bubbles with friends in the sweltering Melbourne summer heat with live music, activities, and delicious fresh peach-themed food, desserts, and beverages selected by local Melburnians.

The poster designs look at both conventional and contemporary design.

The portrait poster exemplifies the traditional goals of contemporary graphic design, which are to effectively and tastefully communicate a message through visually appealing and readable graphic components and typography. Peaches and bubbles are combined into a sweet and effervescent mascot for the festival.

The landscape poster focuses on stimulating the viewer’s intellect through a visual trip while also providing a unique challenge. The typography used in the horizontal poster mimics the free-flowing motion of bubbles, which viewers must actively use to read and comprehend the information. In order to emphasise the upbeat and lively environment in a more conventional fashion, the backdrop colours and the peach mascot are flipped.
